FAQ’s

Not all types of massage are right for pregnancy. Prenatal massage is the safest type of massage at any stage of pregnancy,  even during early stages of labor. Specific modifications are used to maintain high levels of safety for mom and baby at all times.

Massage is a great way to get your body relaxed and prepared for labor and delivery. I do offer my clients who are within 39-41 weeks of gestation an induction oriented massage. Using positioning and acupressure points on the body, the early stages of labor can successfully be sustained. Getting an induction massage can help early labor to not only progress  but to do so with less discomfort.

I suggest that clients schedule a postpartum massage 10 days after delivery. For moms who need some extra help due to a traumatic or long labor  3-5 days after delivery is advised. I always encourage moms to keep their baby with them on the table during treatment as well!

All materials needed for the most therapeutic and effective treatment is brought by the massage therapist. All equipment (sheets/pillows/essential oils/thermal packs/table warmers/bolsters)  gets set up for you, so you stay relaxed before you get a great massage.
